AssassinCraft 1.9 Ready, created by Austin_Darkbane1, is obviously an Assassin’s Creed themed Texture Pack. With over 1,800 views and 500 downloads in less than a day, it seems legit, right? Wrong. The only AC related changes was a nonworking cross-bow and how the armor looks. Going in depth, this is what I observed.
If I had to summarize the cons, it would be that it didn’t stick well to the theme. I can tell that most of the developer’s time was spent on the elements (water, fire, lava, portal) that they may have lost track of the theme of Assassin’s Creed.
The texture of the ores in blocks, and the entire brick in general, has been shrunk. But that’s bearable.
The only other thing I have to bash on about is the bow not working, shown below. It looks cool, but it doesn’t shoot. You can only hit with it, but not from it.
The health and armor bar is changed, and it looks pretty awesome, but it’s not unheard of.
The only thing Assassin’s Creed thing I could tell that worked was the armor, and my God, it’s pretty cool.
Speaking of “oh my God, it’s pretty cool”, check out this. Just amazing textures; what Minecraft should have looked like in the first place.
That’s it for the pros and cons, so here are my ratings on it.
-It has done many times before, and most of them have been much more to the point.
-It looks good, but it didn’t reach it’s mark.
How this could be better:
Work on making every feature on Minecraft tie in to Assassin’s Creed. You could change the weapons, mobs, anything really. It just wasn’t done on here, so I’m hoping to see some changes for the better. Good concept, good design, but a little off track.
